Exploration the practical aspects of bamboo construction by building a full-size pavilion under the guidance of world-renowned bamboo expert Jorg Stam and master bamboo carpenter Vinc Math. This pavilion, designed as a shading roof structure, showcases the incredible potential of leaf-like shapes ingeniously crafted from straight bamboo elements. These shapes are derived from the geometry of "ruled surfaces." During the workshop, you will gain hands-on experience with the physical characteristics of bamboo, learn to use specialized bamboo carpentry tools, and master typical construction techniques.
